CD Review: "Cab Driving Man" - Mississippi Heat

This band was started in 1991 by Pierre and he is still the harp player and band leader. Every other position has turned over, though. There’s 16 songs and only two are covers. Pierre is also a licensed clinical psychologist. Still has turnover. They’ve also got a female singer who sings on all of Pierre’s songs. The guitar player writes, too, and sings 3 of his songs here. There’s horns on a few numbers. It's slick, polished and professional. For a band called Mississippi Heat, it could use a little more fire to my liking. They’ve been doing it since '91, I guess they know what works better than I. It's blues, I can’t find fault with it. I think it's hibernation trying to set in upon me. I’m all fat with eggnog wanting to sleep off Jan and Feb. ♪♪♪ 1/2 16 tracks, 68 min. Hear for yourself:
